Master gardner garden soil, miracle grow all purpose plant food 1/2 strength, water (ph of 6.5 - 7 ), light schedule: 18/6, a little over 60 daya since seed germination

Looks like you could use a little more light, pop the plastic domes off those led bulbs?

Id keep the feeding at 1/2 strength for now, 75-80f for optimal growth, don't water to run-off just yet, let those roots fill.

How far away should I keep the bulbs once I pop the plastic off

I dont use those kind of lights, but that sounds like a good tip. OK, I was was really curious and couldn't help myself, so I just ripped a cover off one. I finally got out some wire cutters and that did the trick. And that shit is bright as hell. I can still see spots from looking at it for a second. I'm wondering how much power is going through the 2 exposed prongs and if it's dangerous to touch it when it's powered on. I'm guessing it's low wattage, but don't want to figure that one out the hard way. I know my amp meter could tell me, but figured you might already know.

the prongs can shock you due to high voltage, its low wattage but still, don't touch it while powered on. The voltage will depend on brand/driver etc but if you look at the pad on your pic, it says 94v.

If you aren't going to use it for growing, id probably just glue it back on lol

No I don't plan on using it. I have boards and cmh, but I thought it was really interesting. I'm now tempted to test it with the meter just out of curiosity. I have a feeling that it might read 94v like your thinking. I gotta water my plants first, but am procrastinating, lol.

I'm working with a small budget so any ideas on the best. Way to add more light
HPS grow lighting would probably be your best bang for buck, you could always stack more of those led bulbs that your currently using but they aren't as powerful and actually cost more than an HPS bulb/kit & i can't imagine using less than 200w for flowering. Good luck

Ok to start off theirs nothing particularly wrong going on with your plant, it looks ok for the stage you are in....veg

However, if you wish to flower this plant, get a decent yeild and quality bud , you will need to buy a HPS 400 watt lighting system at a very bare minimum, but i recommened you buy a 600 watt hps as it gives you the most light per power usage for a hps and you will be able to grow more plants in the future.

once you have the 600 watt , run the plant under 24 hours of light for 10 days, then transplant the plant into a larger pot of 20 liters of potting mix and run it for another 10 days under 24 hours of light, then change to 12 hour of light , 12 hours of dark on a timer. To initiate flower.

anything else and your just pissing in the wind. A hps either 400 watt or 600 watt is your cheapest entry if you want to grow anything half decent.

Thanks any suggestions on where to get one? I added another led bulb for the meantime and I was wondering if not enough light is the reason the top of my plant is turning yellow

I don't see any yellowing? If your talking about the center of the new growth, its normal for it to start out pale and green up as it grows, this is more noticeable under higher light levels, you might have only noticed it once they grew close to the light.

As simple as watering sounds, its easy to do it too soon or too much at one time, learn how to water when the pot gets light right before droop sets in, if your plant starts excessively dropping after you water, you gave to much or too soon. If it starts dropping before watering, you watered slightly too late.

Here's an example of a budget grow light.
