Yellow Leaves, do they stay or do they go.... *PIC*

Typically in flowering i get yellowing leaves around the main colas in my garden, most likely due to lower amounts of nitrogen in flowering nutes. They are typically older large fan leaves, they eventually turn completely yellow late in flowering but other than their color they still look fairly healthy.

My question is, once a leaf starts to turn yellow is if still beneficial to the plant or should it be removed so its not just blocking light to lower buds? The same question goes for purple leaves?

u can take it off its not gunna help anymore, clip it off and let the light down past it...good looking bud bro

I have always just snipped them (yellow leaves) off in the past but wondered if i was doing the right thing. Thanks for the props, maybe i'll load up a couple more pics...

Yellow is a "flag" for insect pests; aphids, etc. are commonly entrapped using yellow sticky cards, used as indicators in the greenhouse as to when pests may have started an invasion. They will seek out the color yellow as it indicates foliage with weakened defenses. In a sealed grow room, this may not be as big a consideration as elsewhere.

One should be careful when removing dying leaves not to spread viruses with cutting tools used on multiple plants, or to pinch off leaves using fingernails, particularly if tobacco is in use.

Gotta agree with sparkafire anyhow, not all the leaves are yellowing yet, but they likely will as it gets closer.
