lol that is a very broad question. It means taking off leaves or other plant material. You do this so the light can penetrate when leaves are excessive. Also topping plants (cutting the new growth or pinching) will encourage the plant to grow new shoots- for every top you pinch two or three will emerge. This way you can keep your plant short with lots of tops which will turn into bud.
