WTF? Should I quit?
Late at night the day before New Years Eve I was home hanging out in my back house/office/grow room doing some work on my computer. I got cold and thought I'd light my natural gas wall heater to warm up. I hadn’t used it in several years.
Well woosh a big ball of flame blew out of the heater and clouds of smoke poured from its register. I instantly ran and grabbed the fire extinguisher from the grow room 20 feet away and attempted to put it out. Not happening. Shit! I then ran and grabbed 2 more extinguishers from the attached garage and successfully put it out. Unfortunately during all the ruckus with the smoke alarms and clouds of smoke billowing outside got my neighbors attention and she called 911. I am happy I have neighbors who care but I’m not happy about what happened next after the firemen arrived.
The fire department is only a block away so they were here in no time and proceeded to bash the hell out of my wall inside and out all the while dousing out the remaining hotspots.
While I was outside accessing the damage that the fire and firemen had done to the exterior, one of the firemen must have poked his head inside my G-room. Fuck I forgot to lock it during the melee.
One of the nosy A-hole fireman must have called the law, because before I knew it there were 2 cops invading my space!
One of them asked me if I was the owner of the house. I said I was and politely asked them why they were there here and what they were doing inside my house.
“We were alerted to a possible Meth-Lab fire” one of them interjected.
“No meth-lab here guys just a small heater mishap” I replied as I nodded to the now hole in my wall on either side of the heater.
“Well we need to see that room over there” He pointed to the Grow closet across the room. At that point I knew the firemen had ratted me out. Mother fucken rats!
I asked them if they had a warrant. “We do not need one during an arson investigation” another cop chimed in.
“Arson! Meth lab what the fuck are you talking about? This is a heater fire” I pointed to the now soggy chopped up hole in the wall where my torched heater was. “There is no arson here”
“ We can stay here as long as we need to obtain a search warrant” the other cop said to me. “ Do you have a MM permit the younger cop asked.
Thought to myself how did this go from fire to meth lab to grow room???
Yea I have a MM permit. I got it and showed him. The typical Cali 6 x 12 okey doke from the 420 doc.
“Looks ok to me can we observe the room sir?”
“Why” I asked “I did nothing wrong”
I caved in and showed them the then just transplanted room full of seed stock. 8 plants. I had broken no laws.
“Nice setup” the younger cop commented “Everything looks legit here” the other cop commented “ yea right you have a nice night sir”
The law left as did the fire fucking rats. I had to wait a bit for the gas company inspector who was cool and a 420 bro who had a late night bowl with me. He never saw the groom but I sensed he was down and offered him a hit. He left me a card for discount HVAC service he did on the side.

OK so now it’s been 6 weeks since the fire.
I now have 8 girls in flower. CA allows 6 “adult” plants. I got no problem killing a couple if need be.
I am very worried the law may be paying me a follow up visit.
I would like to expand my 420 grow at some point, but am worried about the man crushing my dreams and taking all of my grow equipment/plants/computer etc. in a raid.
MY PLAN
Expand the grow x 10 but only keep a couple pot plants. Fill the room (potential groom expansion) with misc. other veggies like tomatoes, lettuce and other fast growers I can get half grown from the local nursery. Pump up my grow like a mini veggie jungle then have a few anonymous calls placed tipping the local PD as to a major grow OP. Then when they come and find veggie city and a couple MMJ plants, the joke is on them. Repeat this process again in a month or so (or a couple times) with my still valid license. Hopefully they will get the message and maybe they will take me off their radar.
I can’t move, but would like to continue growing.
Do you think this will work or should I give up growing all but only a couple of plants in fear of the man busting down my door? Am I just being paranoid?? Any other Ideas or suggestions?
