[h=2]Christie Knew of Bridge Lane Closures, Former Official’s Attorney Says[/h]New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie knew of lane closures at the George Washington Bridge, contrary to what Mr. Christie told the public earlier this month, said an attorney for the former Port Authority of New York and New Jersey official who engineered the closures.
The attorney representing David Wildstein said in a letter to the Port Authority that unidentified evidence exists that would show Mr. Christie knew of the September lane closures while they were going on. Mr. Christie has denied knowledge of the closures, while acknowledging they may have been enacted by associates for political reasons.
Mr. Christie has apologized for the actions of his aides and allies. His aides didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment. The Port Authority declined to comment.

It will be interesting what the "unidentified evidence" is.
Christie pretty much painted himself into a corner by saying he had no knowledge of what was going on.

it's so easy to turn a traffic jam into a conspiracy when the left's machine is rumbling away printing out agitprop and fanning the flames.

meanwhile, barry seotoro can lie, sabotage his political opponents, engineer a government shutdown through his own recalcitrance, and indulge his love of photo-ops at taxpayers expense, and nobody on the left says a word.

Unless he had no knowledge of what was going on ....

The press used to call Ronald Reagan "the Teflon president" because no matter what scandal they raised about him it just rolled right off his back. The left was furious that all their finger wagging had no effect. I guess the lefties have their own Teflon president now.

The thing that amuses me is the apparent belief on the left that the "Republicans are done, there will never be another Republican president, etc". I wonder how popular the imperial presidency will be when a Republican ascends the throne?

All my lefty friends think Hillary is unbeatable in 2016, which strikes me as funny because I can't imagine a politician that is more unlikable than Hillary. I sure hope they are wrong because the last thing this country needs is another aristocratic dynasty politician; no more Bushes, no more Clintons, no more Obamas is my hope. Having said all that, I don't really see any rising star on either side at the moment.

you two are cute...and transparent.

Too bad I liked Christie

any republican embroiled in scandal and rendered harmless is always the left's favorite republican.

not that they would have ever voted for him or supported his agenda, but now that he is politically dead, suddenly he isnt so bad...

they just like the idea of any republican who is completely discredited.

I was going to vote for Mccain, until he went all "mavericky" with the choice of Palin.
I'll do my own thinking thank you very much

Mccain was another of those neutered republicans who has no support from republicans, but was still better than a democrat.

democrats never voted for him, but he was always the ideal of a republican who would cave in to their pressure and submit to their whims

mccain wasnt even a bob dole type negotiater who sought compromise with the democrats, mccain just knuckled under over and over and over.

without a backbone, a republican is just a democrat with a less whiney demeanor.

Exactly.

A republican and a democrat really want the same thing...a fair system, a fair shot at success, a government that is limited...just have different ways of approaching it.

If one or the other want more or less than that then they really have different labels....My opinion of course.
