Worried about smell

Hi,

I've done days of research in preparation for growing my own 2 plants. I'm using a Hydro TS 600, Can Lite Pl 425m3h as carbon filter, hooked up to 400m3h ventilation to the outside. I have no tent and am growing in a closet, with passive air intake from the gaps around the door.

The room itself is 90cm * 90cm * 240cm, but there's also other things in there that take up air space.

I'm very worried about the smell, especially since I have Ak47 auto seeds, which I read smell very strong. I live in town, and do not want any odor leakage to the outside, preferably also not inside to my other rooms.

The building is very well isolated, and the air exhaust is at the top of the building, so noone directly above me that I should be worried about. There are some buildings around that are taller than where I blow air out, but they're some distance away.

Is this possible with my current setup? And if not, would switching to a less strong smelling strain solve my issue? Or are there any other methods to prevent smell from alerting the neighborhood?

I'm also curious about what people with experience think of my current setup and if the plants will do alright in general.

as long as you have a large enough fan for the size of the closet with an appropriately sized carbon filter for that particular size of fan it should create negative air pressure in the closet you shouldnt smell anything even in a nearby room. can lite makes decent carbon filters they use the same type of carbon youll find in the phresh filters at half the price. i think youll be fine. i saw that your using cm instead of inches if your in canada is it not legal to have 4. either way i wouldnt worry, the thing about growing pot its generally not the smell with a carbon filter that sinks your ship its generally loose lips that sink ships.

Thanks for the reply! I still ordered some new seeds yesterday (Royal Jack Auto), as I read they smell less noticibly and want to play it extra safe. Good to know that you think I could be off far worse and that the smell is somewhat controllable.

I live in the Netherlands, so 5 plants is legal here, but since I rent and my contract specifically says I can't grow, I need to be careful.

Agreed. I’ve seen more grows get busted over loose lips than a carbon filter. Seen decent sized grows in very populated areas go problem free, with and without proper filtration.

On the other hand, I’ve seen grows get busted because of loose lips. Keep your lips shut, do everything to the best of your ability to keep the smell down and the grow hidden and you should be good.

Remember, word of mouth spreads very fast. I don’t even tell my cats about my secret garden.

Edit: I guess I could learn to read first. You’re in the Netherlands with a 5 plant legal limit, but yet not allowed to grow in your place due to your contract. So no worries about legal ramifications.

Plant dill in the yard and around the house. Dill is a smelly plant.
