Worm Castings

I think I added a little to much worm castings on my soil... now I don't know for sure when I shold feed. I have a journal... if you could give it an eye, and a thread ipened in Organics section but I was told to search here.

BTW you really cannot overdo worm castings.
It helps condition soil and is always a good amendment . There has been growers on this site growing in full worm castings. ( not my choice but they did it ).

Gave a look and plants look ok. Maybe a little heavy on N but that’s not a bad thing at all. Means growth is optimum. Anymore will have negative consequences.

Try adding some Epsom salts but only one application of 1tbsp per gallon. higher N requires more Magnesium.

Don’t flush it out. You’ll ruin the mix. Just give water/root stim for now until stretch begins. Then midway through stretch try a feed ONLY if the N tox has subsided.

Another way to relieve N tox is bump the humidity up. What is your humidity and can you get it into the 70’s?

Lower humidity = increases nutrient uptake exacerbating the toxicity

In my experience I always get a little N tox when using castings and peat based potting mix.

I once top dressed on my usually feeding regime in flower and got N tox day after.

I suspect the castings have a readily available source of N and other nutrients before needing to be broken down.

True - i tend to do no more than 20% or so ( per container size ) for my layered mixes …. But as you know there are some sensitive feed strains out there too.

Best to not just dump amendments together without knowing what excess problems that may show.

My 2¢ freebie lol.

Autoflowers do not need complicated feeds. Most bagged medium can carry initial growth for weeks upfront before needing a “ recharge “ as plant exhausts it. Then you can either use a top dressing of more soil / tea drench or simple dry fertilizer scratched into top soil. I will put it this way…… you can use a simple 4-4-4 or 5-5-5 dry fertilizer all the way to harvest.

No frills. No multibottle bullshit . No guessing .
No ratio drama. Even tap water use too. Its lifespan is hardwired and will not need the excess as you can do with extended photo grows.

Even a simple 2 part fertilizer ( Dr. Earth premium gold 4-4-4 for veg / Flower girl for bloom ) or a one part feed like GH maxibloom powder ( works from start to harvest ) with nothing else. No molasses / sugar flavors or other shit.

Keep things simple with autos.
