Woof Woof - Lots Of Bubba's :)

So I was kind of forced to get rid of 99% of my equipment a few months back. Starting up again with about less than a 1/4 of the size I had before I left. To be honest I’m just glad to be growing again!

I wanted to keep this one super simple. Minimal work is the goal with this run. (Coming from a hydro and coco setup, that shouldn’t be too hard!)

Why bagged soil? I just wanted to keep things suppperrr simple for this first run back. Next run I plan to run my own soil.

It’s my first time using every brand up there (except for the HLG LEDS - those guys are my go to)! I had the 550 V2 R-specs before (And 650Rs), so I figured the 300L R-Spec would be sufficient enough, especially at the price I got them. If I upgrade lighting down the road, the 300s dimmed down are great little veg lights for starter cups/clones.

Wheww… with that out of the way you’re probably wondering what I’m growing?!

I dropped 10 Black Lime Bubba x Mac Stompers. I am hoping to get some black salt + lime + orange terps from these. I only had 10, so I may just end up f2’ing them to see if I can find those terps in a bigger selection. (The BLB mother was very potent with good medicinal benefits and tastes like a strong black salt and lime.)

I got a couple of Remo Chemo (UBC Chemo x P98 Bubba). And one Double Take (Og Kush x Bubba).

I also threw down 10 Moonwalker Og x UBC Chemo seeds. The moonwalker I paid big bucks for at an auction and managed to get a couple to live (it was an old pack labeled as “questionable viability”). The moonwalker mother kind of ended up a little under the canopy and I could have taken her another 7-10 days easily, but the entire room had to come down so did she. The chemo is from woodhorse… because why not add more medicinal benefits to an already highly medicinal strain?!

Here’s the Moonwalker Og mother. She packs a freaking punch… the type of smoke where you take your first toke and know damn… I’m going to be stoned by the end of this joint. Strong body high but also light in your legs.

I transplanted them into 1 gals shortly after the pics above. I think they were in the 1 gals for about a week... around 3 weeks from seed in the pics below.

I will finish in 1 gals. I am going to push them as long as I can in the 1 gals until I can get one or two half decent clones off each. Then I will clean them up, let them recover, and flip.

Around 4 weeks here. Took some clones, cleaned up everything. Will let them recover for a bit then flip to flower.

Having spent the last I don't know 5-6 years deep diving in hydro and soilless mediums, I'm kind of just getting the hang of the whole living soil thing. I have to say, I have a pretty good idea on what needs to change for next run already...
1) Soil too hot for seedlings right out the gate
2) Pot not big enough to sustain plant growth long enough
(so too hot early on, but not hot enough later in veg.)
While I'll be making my own soil, it does give me a good guideline of what and how much the plants want at any given time.

So far, I've picked out one Black Lime Bubba x Mac Stomper Male (for structure, and a nice strong lime terp). I've also picked out an amaze-balls Moonwalker Og x UBC Chemo male (very nice terps that I can tell will translate well to the smoke. It's almost like this grape, kerosene, purple kush, og, spray paint kind of vibe.) There's two nice moonwalker x chemo females I've found with similar terps. Should be a good match.

I also made this male box (idea inspired by Katsu Bluebird). This one fits 2 one gal's comfortably with saucers, or 1 five gal with a saucer (but space/height might be too restricted for a five gal pot.)

Some very interesting exciting phenos in here...

The stretchy Black Lime Bubba X Mac Stomper smells crazy! Like squishing a lime in a cup, then squishing a sour orange into there, then adding some black salt and vinegar. The short one smells like strong lime and black salt.

The Double Trouble (og kush x bubba kush) looks really interesting too. Smells like a nice og, sharp gas, with an earthy undertone.

The Moonwalker Og x UBC Chemo are really interesting. Smell very potent. Mostly UBC Chemo dominant in structure (I'd say 90% of the population). I will be hitting one mother leaning to each side with a moonwalker chemo dominant male.

The male clone chamber is working surprising well! Will be harvesting pollen in a few days.

Around week 3 flower here.

This run was originally planned to be majority sensi for me, with select pollinations to to increase stock for future breeding work. I usually always separate my males but I tried that "male box" for the first time (I wanted to try something different because the run was just for me.)... I don't think it worked. I believe my sensi run is now seeds. Kind of sucks because I needed sensi!
The good news is it will be really easy to tell which male comes up in the progeny because the Limed Orange (Black lime bubba x Mac stomper) male was super late to show flower and wreaks like limes.
I was going to hit certain cuts with both of these males anyways. The only difference now is that I'll have to separate them after I pop them.

Here are my notes on the males:
Limed Orange (Black lime bubba x Mac stomper)
The male chosen was very similar to the Black Lime Bubba mother in both structure and terps, although it does have some added undertones from the Mac Stomper father. This plant had a stretch of about 1.5x. The dominant smell is of strong freshly squeezed lime mixed with black salt that comes from the BLB mother. There were also some subtle sweet orange and gas notes to the smell as well.


Moon Medic (Moonwalker Og X UBC Chemo)
The moonwalker og was dominant in both terps and structure from the male chosen. Only 2 of 20 plants expressed moonwalker dominant traits, one female, and this male. The male was very pungent and the dominant smell in the room. The terps were pretty much Moonwalker Og (exactly as the female mother I used) - Base notes of purple kush (grape, purple, kush) with undertones of hindu and subtle notes of Tahoe og (spice, gasssss).

12 hour water soak + 48 hours in paper towels. They just hit dirt now (Gaia Green living organic soil). I underestimated space a bit so I couldn’t fit a couple Panama and Sour D in the 1gals in there. Will let those one germinate longer and throw them into solo’s. Everything else is looking good.

Also, I still haven’t figured out why the top row germinates sooooo much quicker and more vigorously than the bottom. >>Does anyone know WHY?

Week 4 of flower.

Limed Orange (Black Lime Bubba x Mac Stomper) smells like a twisted mess of goodness! Initiatially it was the lime and black salt that you would smell first, followed by a sour orange and gas. Now you smell a nice sweet orange with strong gas, then the lime and black salt start mixing in. I can tell this is going to be really nice smoke, like a full package hybrid kind of high… time will tell!

Moon Medic Og (Moonwalker Og x UBC Chemo) pheno 8, 1, and 4 stand out to me. I love love love the terps, and frost of pheno 4 - it’s seems 60/40 moonwalker Dom in terps, but has the chemo structure. Phone 8 is considerably more dense in weight (you can literally feel it when you move the plant), and pheno 1 is very chemo Dom and super crazy frosty - but will maybe need a week or two longer than the other phenos to mature.)

That Double take is shaping up to be real nice too! Get a nice balanced terp profile from the og and the bubba… gassy, earthy, kushy.
I did get a second pheno of that was well, but it was lagging behind so it only made it into a solo cup. That pheno is straighttttt burn your nose gas. (it’s also seeded)
