Wondering what is the best setup for the stand I built???

So I was able to get some free lumber from the local hardware store and A great suggestion was given to me by a friend who has a octagon setup for drain to waste and flood and drain setup

I have been looking flood and drain kind like this

I’m trying to stay away from pvc because of the high cost of the connecters. The pvc pipe is fairy cheap 30$ for 12 feet but one 4 inch Y connected are 9$I was looking at doing tower all around the octagon and using y connecters to hold the neet pot and I would need 12 towers with 3 connecters in the tower so I would need 36 connecters costing 350$ Plus all the elbows, cap, reducers and whatever else I’m missing
And now with this Covid shit going around I’m having a hard time find material two even do that
So what I have came up with is snaking a sump pump hose two or three layers throw
And just doing a basic flood and drain and sloping the hose 2 to 4 inch over 3 feet to stop pooling in pipe
Here and some pic of my friends setup it’s in his shop so leaking isn’t a huge problem btw this setup pulls 2.5 grams for every watt he running a 1000hps 8304BCFD-5521-44DE-AD95-F4CF5ED68B78.jpeg

and even if I wanted to do the style setup I’m have a hard time finding this 8 way manifold

Any suggestions will be considered other than ripping it all apart lol thank!!!!

This is a construction of beauty. Respect for the effort...but I have to be honest.. how can that be worth the effort. Have you thought about growing weed and building a boat... separating your 2 hobbies?

My biggest advice on hydro is you gotta pay to play. If you dont have the budget to do it right, wait until you do. A lot of us spend thousands to get started. I dropped like 4 grand before I ever planted a seed.

There is someone around here that's run a very similar setup. I want to say maybe it was @Hot Diggity Sog

even if you did a soil grow for the time being with pots all around the octagon, you could get one harvest in and by then this covid should be better than now. hang a 600 or 1k hps in the center and give it a go.

and Dana White already trademarked Octagon so you gotta call it something else. :bigjoint:

I agree with Rky, while I'm pretty uneducated on DTW/Flood and Drain, I do know that currently the risk isn't worth trying to go out and get the supplies you'd need. I also know that amazon is still shipping, albeit a bit slower than normal due to them prioritizing shipments, but nevertheless it may have some good soil that you could order and simple supplies to at least get some kind of soil grow going so that you won't run out of medicine should you not be able to get any with the current COVID situation. I had started prototyping something very similar and after numerous designs, I settled on this:

12/12 From Seed Experiment - 21 Strains

Super---- HDS, I like to take a sampling of buds at different stages when they get that far along to compare the smoke characteristics. (and in a hurry to try any new strain) Ahhhh------that first article smoke.:bigjoint: I hope I'm wrong -------I guesstimate between 2.0-3.0 lbs. A~~~

That's a cool setup. One of the big problems you might be facing, is maintaining the plants. Not sure if you plan on reaching them using a ladder. Having access is really important, IMO.
