Wiring up lights

Morning everybody,

Sorry if this seems very basic, we all have to start somewhere. Dont we?

Well my knowledge about lights is close to zero. I know how to change a light bulb but I don't know what I need.

I've heard about ballast and fixtures but do not know what they mean or what they do. I googled but it seems very broad.

Ballasts are kinda like transformers or resistors in which sets the electricity to what the light bulb needs.

Okay so I have created my box from scratch (2x3x2ft), it looks good (pics later), I have an extention cord running through the upper part of the box to a power board.

This goes to my main question. How do I wire the lights? What parts do I need?

What I have so far are a screw in 100W HPS and 100W MH bulbs

I thought lights would be the easiest bit. Turns out I have absolutely no idea =/

Thought I'd ask so I don't electricute myself.

Thank you in advance, hope you guys can help wrap my head around this.

Just buy a light kit (ballast, bulb, reflector). You plug it into the wall as you would any appliance. As simple as that :)

Show some pics, You of course need a lamp cord which connects your bulb to your ballast, and of course a ballast power cord(extension cord) that connects to power, With any luck your ballast is still correctly wired to the capacitor and ignitor....
Note: Generally the lamp cord is a pair of single wires: black and white that you wire to your bulb socket... Yours probably has a ground coming off the ballast and a wire from the ignitor and ballast for your lamp cord. High wattages would include a common...
