wiring mains to attic

Quick questions -

How would one go about installing a multisocket or something similar in a loft - i can imagine that currently to do this one would have to run a multi socket extension from mains on 2nd floor up into loft - creating a problem of seeing the lead going up there!

What is best way of installing something up there permanently so not having to have a lead dangling down all the time?

UK 240v.

self wiring is what leads to electrical fires and voided insurance policies. invest the money in a licensed electrican to run a line up to the attic. make up some bogus reason for the power. its worth spending the money to avoid an electrical fire.

He's right but electrical can be pretty easy.. Just go pick up a DIY book from the depot or whatever is near you.. Maybe try only smoking 1 joint before the project instead of 3 or more...lol

You just need to run 2 new 20 amp circuits from what it sounds like. Have you checked you breaker box to see if it has the room for 2 more 20A circuits?

note that this guy is in UK with 240v power. not as much fun as america when you touch a hot lead

im a certified electrician, maybe I can help, explain in more detail. what do you mean by multisocket?
An extension.. but rewired so that the extention is plugged in on a lower floor.. a wire through a small hole to the attic and then reconnected to the rest of the extension sockets in the attic... Is this hard to do.. Any ideas? It seems to be my problem too.

Run a sub-panel. That way you got 1 line to worry about, and make it big enough for a possible upgrade. You only need to do this once, but you're going to have to drill holes and/or patch walls.
