Wsup fellow RIU folks! Im going to start my 1200 watt grow in a couple weeks and I need to figure out how im going to be able to exhaust out my window.

I know i could just put up a board and just screw it down and add a 6" flange and duct all my hot air out the cracked window, but my blinds stick out about 3/4" so it wouldnt stick flush against the board... I need a simple way to fix this. Any help would be appreciated!

heres a picture of my window
specs: 34.5" x 70.5"

for my last grow I actually did something similar. Instead of cutting the blinds, I just rose it up a couple notches and tucked my exhaust between the window and screen. It didnt work very well, I could still feel the warm air exhausting into the room. I need to figure a way to have the exhaust completely exit the room.

Dont really feel like tearing up my room, not much of a handy man; i mostly break things :)
there is nothing to tear up lol. they sell a hole cutter at lowes you just attach it to your drill and it cuts the hole in whatever you need it in..

I had the exact same issue, for me I just used 1" furring strips all the way around the frame of the winow, making sure it went around where the blinds stuck out, used foam weather stripping and screws to seal and secure it. I live in an apartment, and you cant tell at all from the outside, I have the intake and exhaust at seperate corners, and a duct muffler attached to the exhaust side just to be sure noise is down too.

lostcause has it !

Just but some wood around the frame edges so the board sticks out a bit ! Sorted and you can cut a hole for anything :)
