I use Jiffy cubes to sprout seeds, mostly because they're nicely portable and those rapid cubes are really for cuttings, not seeds.
I've successfully sprouted at least 100 seeds that way over the course of however long it's been since California legalized growing your own.
But for the last 2 weeks, I can't get them to grow. They sprout nicely. I have a little light over the sprouting chamber so they even green up and grow the start of the first 2 real leaves.
Then when I put them into dirt, they wilt over completely by the next day.
The dirt is very used. I just add that pink osmocote, otherwise nothing.
But it was dry before adding a new one, and I put mosquito dunks into the water. And no sign of gnat infestation.
Seeds are 2 years old, and not always kept in the fridge.
Anyone run into little sprouts wilting over in a day? I'm on #6 using 4 different sets of dirt in cloth bags.
