will this system work?

Hi grow my orchids in one of the most simple hydro setup ever. its a professional set up but to put it simple its just a bucket and then a smaller bucket with holes in it and is filled with the clay rocks and the plant. it grows just fine, theres a meter on the bucket that tells me when to stop watering it.
would this still work for weed?
i looked for a set up like this everywhere but i couldnt find a name or any other info on it

Coco or hydrotron, have a look at those see if they are your flavor.

if you have one in front of you and its simple just build another one. if it can grow orchids it can grow weed.
