Will this be sufficiant

Hey all,
i have been reading alot on this site for the past few months and have decided to make up a plan of a grow cab/ large box grow.

i am planning to grow around 6 - 10 plants. im not sure of the size of the box yet. maybe 2 x 2 x 2.

ok i am planning to make it big enough to put a small ac in it for temp control. either 1 1000w or 2 400w HPS, and advice there would be good? having a carbon filter . having one vent to outside with a good cfm fan. vanting inside from the top and splitting it with 2 insulation tubes to go on the underside of the plants. will have rotating fans inside moving the air around.

i will be growing i soil with a good mixture so it is airated but can still hold water and drain properly. yet to decide what type of nutes to get. advice would be appreciated. i am planning to grow big bud and white widdow but i would like some other good strains, advice there aswell.

Hey, I'm just starting at this website and I'm planning on making a grow of my own for the first time. From what I've heard/learned so far, Northern Lights is apparently a great beginners strand, and I've heard mixed things about WW (Most people say it's fairly easy) I kinda want to start with that but am still undecided.

As for the 1000w or the two 400w lights, If I were you I'd just invest in one light for now, it seems much simpler to me to just have one light running as long as you can, however this is pure speculation on my part, it might be just as easy with two.

I'm planning on 6-10 plants as well and I'd like to see how yours comes along!

To grow 6 plants you need at least 4x4x5 tall. And thats tight at finish time. You need room for the shit to grow! You are talking 1000w so you have to have space from the cieling and the plants too. Fox Farms ocean forest is great soil. It drains well and holds water well. I have used a lot of different nutes and I like Supernatural and Fox Farms products because they are ph buffered so you dont have to deal with ph problems. White Widow is a great strain, Big Bud is OK with huge yields! Bubba and OG Kush, SuperSilverHaze, PurePowerPlant, Blueberry and Shaman are all favorites. GH Cheese and Trainwreck plus SourDiesel and Headband are new favorites. Good Luck!

thanks, wow 4x4x5 is pretty big, looks like im going to have to build big on this one. yeah i was thinking of going with OG kush and Blueberry. yeah i have heard good things about fox farm. i was thinking how high does the 1000w have to be from the plants. oh and is it a good idead to have CLF's around the side for under coverage. will it confuse the plants though

More light is allway better. A 1000w is perfect if you can keep it cool. I started with a 1000watts and had to change to a 600w because of heat. You need to have plants about 12-14" from glass with air cooling and about 20 -24" without. With a air cooled hood and 600wHPS you can put plants about 6-8 " away. so yuo get good light penetration into the canopy. I say 4x4 because if you start at 12-14' tall and the same rouund the plant at least doubles during the flower cycle deppending on strain, so you can run out of room quick with Big Bud. WW and Og are not too big so they are good choices.

I forgot to add Bubba and Blueberry both stay pretty small too. Of course the Bubba is my favorite you should give it a try. You can probably find a clone. Blueberry is pretty finicky and doesnt like a lot of nutes. Bubba is not big on nutes either.

thanks again, yeah im kindof cautios about nute burning the plants. do you think a cool tube is a good idea. i have heard good and bad about them. thanks for the information. im planning on growing two strains at a time. and probablt the big bud on its own. i dont want it taking the others space. if big bud is to big i might stick with WW og and bubba.

WOW,, you want to put a 1,000 watt light inside a 2x2x2 box? Even a 4x4x5 box is going to be tight. You need to keep that light about 2 feet above the plants. Also the height og the bucket and the light itself.
1 foot for light itself, 1 foot for pot, 2 feet for distance to plant. I count that as 1 foot plants. That small of an area does not need that powerfull of a light. Also, I would drop down to less plants also.

But then again, I can not grow in small boxes either. Sometimes I have trouble with an 8 foot ceiling.

Try skipping the veg cycle, go straight to flowering.

thanks dangly, yeah im thinking of expanding that bitch up. i am checking out the house i am supposbly rooming in, and if it has a small un used study i shall convert it. if not yeah i might even buy a grow tent and see what happenes. i have to many ideas. never think of the perfect one.

You are not going to try and grow weed with room mates are you? This is not a good idea at all.

haha, well this one room mate is helping me design and i have lived with him for years now. its just we havnt had the room untill now. i know that there is an issue if he opens his gob and spills that we are growing but with him having as much as me to loose and him paying half as we are both avad smokers i think it will be ok
