Are Filters Needed for Mister Systems?
The size of a nozzle opening is roughly the thickness of a human hair, and that can easily be clogged with a grain of sand or a granule of rust, that is why it is essential that the nozzles are protected with a 5 Micron sediment filter.
With well water that has enough pressure of at least 45 psi (Pounds per Square Inch), a 5 Micron sediment filter is recommended so that nozzles won't get clogged easily.
When there is not enough pressure (below 45 psi), (or to pull out water from a water container), a booster pump is needed, and that requires a 20 Micron sediment pre-filter to protect the pump.
When using a booster pump, a 5 Micron sediment post-filter is also needed to protect the nozzles from clogging, and to stabilize the pump output pressure.
If the water is hard, then a Polyphosphate filter is needed to prevent or reduce, (depending on how hard the water is) lime build up and clogging the nozzles due to calcium present in hard water.
since these mister filters r small enough to stop lime, etc
would they stop an amount of nutes going thru it?
