Will my soil less mix do?

Hey everyone,

Still new to this so I'd just like some reassurance before I commit.

Looking to make a soil less mix from some soil I currently have adding other amendments for my next cycle. This is basically a variation of a mix I found under "LC's"

This is what I have in mind but i'd love feedback.

5 parts Fafards Agro Mix G5 ( I have a bunch of it and want to use it up. Next time i'm going to use just sphagnum peat)
3 parts perlite
2 parts wormcastings
Powdered dolomite lime @ 2 tablespoons per gallon or 1 cup per cubic foot of the soiless mix.

Extra's (I could use help on at what ratio's to add these ingredients below.)

Gaia Green Rock Dust
Kelp meal
Rooters mycorrhizae

Can anyone else recommend anything else?

I plan on feeding with ACT's that I found in the same post I found the basic soil mix in.

Veg mix-

1/3 cup Peruvian Seabird Guano (PSG)
or
1/3 cup High N Bat Guano (Mexican)
1/3 cup Earth Worm Castings (EWC)
5 tsp. Maxicrop 1-0-4 powdered kelp extract or Acadian Kelp extract.
(That makes the "dry mix". You can make all you want and save it to use later.)
Mix with water @ 1 cup of dry mix into 5 gallons of water to make the tea.
To that 5 gallons of tea add:
5 tbs. Liquid Karma or a good Humic or Fulvic acid
5 tsp. Black Strap Molasses

Use it to water with every 3rd watering.

Flowering nute tea mix:

2/3 cup High P Guano (Indonesian or Jamaican)
5 tsp. Acadian powdered kelp extract
(That makes the "dry mix". You can make all you want and save it to use later.)

To that 5 gallons of tea add:
5 tbs. Liquid Karma or a good Humic or Fulvic acid
5 tsp. Black Strap Molasses
Use it to water with EVERY watering.

I don't know what this mix you're working with is but here is a simple enough recipe.

Even parts compost, peat moss, perlite or rice hulls. If you got really fluffy compost you can up your compost ratio but I would go on the even side to start.

1/4 cup oyster shell flour or dolomite lime per cubic foot

Plant your seeds or seedlings into this mix.

For your one gallon pot plants on up amend this mix with:

Per cubic feet 1/2 cup of
Alfalfa meal
Fish Bone meal
Neem seed meal
Crab shell meal
Gypsum
Kelp meal

And 1/4 cup per cubic feet of
Langbeinite
Oyster shell flour or dolomite lime

Make 15% of your potting soil worm castings if you can afford them or make them.

Plant your plants in a 15 gallon container or bigger and this mix should take them from veg to flower.

If they need additional fertilization simply top dress with more worm castings, compost, kelp meal, alfalfa and neem seed meal.

My mix was similar when I started it about three grows ago, now I just add my homemade worm castings and compost at the beginning of the grow, and top dress more compost and castings when I get a couple weeks into flower.

I am well over six foot and have large hands, check out how this bud is as big as my fucking hand.

She's right at eight weeks but she's still got another 2-3 weeks to go!

This looks like a great recipe. Thanks for sharing it. I might start again and use it.

The Fafards G5 is just stuff I have laying around. That's why I wanted to use it.

If you want to know about it, its made from AGRO MIX® peat, FIBRO MOSS® peat, perlite, limestone, balanced nutrient charge with micronutrients, gypsum, wetting agent.

I actually just found this and realized it had that nutrient charge and this might possibly be half my issue I am having with the grow I am in now as I over watered and gave nutrients too early I think. Also the PH is 5.8 maybe this is a bit low and causing some of the issues I am having as well. When I used the soil I did not add any amendments such as lime to balance the PH.

Question about the 15 gallon pots, do you replant your plants at various times to get them into the 15 gallons or do you go right from a 1 gallon to a 15 gallon pot. I am currently using root master pots.

So I am going to take your advice Roy..

Going to spend the next few days gathering all of required recipe and mix it up and plant 4 Canuk Green Crack seeds.

You ever add Mycorrhizae into your mix? I have heard such wonderful things still considering adding in granular myco into the recipe you supplied.

I go from seedling cup, to one or three gallon pot, and then I go into a 100 gallon soil bed. Lol. But you could go into a 15 gallon and be fine. A 20 or 30 gallon tub will be even better. Bigger roots, bigger fruits!

I used mycos for a couple years and it's been a years since I've used them. And I haven't missed them. A lot of those fungal to root relationships happen naturally if you have a well built soil with quality compost. If you want to add them to your gardening arsenal I recommend applying them directly to The planting hole and root zone of your plants when you transplant them. That is the way to utilize them best.

If I can't find good quality compost for indoor use can I supplement the equal part of compost for EWCs?

Absolutely! When I say compost it can be whatever form of compost is the best quality, most accessible, and affordable to you. Whether that be typical garden variety compost, worm castings, composted manure. As long as it's fully composted it'll have the plant available nutrients, microbial activity, and humates your soil needs!
