while i'm sure it would hurt the drug lords economy it would be friggin awesome to be able to buy my seeds of choice without being busted for it. fuck the drug dealers i'm growin my own anyway so i'm not contributing to their pocket book. who wouldn't want to go to thier local 7 11 and pick up a pack of purple haze or bubblegum...etc. Peace:leaf:

fuck the drug dealers? there would be alot less people smoking and enjoying if it werent for dealing. i just dont think that you should get a felony for it or for growing. misdemeanor would be fine

I don't think people would be discouraged from smoking because it was legal...that doesn't make any sense. People drank just as much if not more after prohibition was ended. The only problem I see is that the quality of the weed available for purchase at a 7-11 will be much lower than the quality of weed I can grow for myself. But I guess that's what you get for payin so much less. I think it would be just like any other massively produced product.

It would be a major boost for the economy. It's always a good idea to get rid of black markets, no matter how profitable they may be. I know some people who have been robbed and shot for their stash (never seen that happen over a bottle of Jack). There would be specialty stores, many more products and innovations, an increase in trade publications, more widespread cultivation (both personal, which will be seen as hobbyist, and commercial), and probably an increase in food demand :)

Think of it this way...how many Americans have smoked a spliff...and how many have had a beer, glass of wine, etc? These figures would probably match up over time, and would certainly draw closer with legalization. But with state-sanctioned bud-smoking, you'd see a decline in abuse as smoking would take its place as a more outgoing, social event, not unlike visiting a microbrew.

Legalize it...
Tax it...
Let freedom ring...through clouds of chronic smoke...

The only people that would suffer are the drug dealers (but considering the choice of industry, I don't really think they'd have trouble finding work once it was legalized). Growers would get newly appointed government jobs, more dispensaries get opened up that would actually be allowed to make a little profit, not to mention the increase in sales for any other store that decides to sell it, and as long as the government was getting their share from whatever tax they throw on it, no complaints would be heard throughout the Nation.
