will a 125watt 2700k cfl light do the work for vegging?

I have a friend of mine that has a hps for flowering. he has a 125w cfl 2700k so asked me if it would do the job for vegging clones untill the are ready to flower. anny feedback

Not optimal but it would work for a small area, like, maybe 1 sq ft, but, probably even less.

Would work, not really ideal though. Plant would stretch quite a bit from the spectrum. 5000-6500k is the ideal kelvin for veg. Tell your "friend" that he should get a 6500k cfl bulb instead.

Also tell him that 125 watts means 125 watts USED by your CFL. NOT the equivalent amount of light it supplies. These are NOT found at Wal Mart or Lowes.
