Why wont they germ?

Hi all, I just started a fresh batch of seeds last week, but I cannot get this certain strain to germ. I know its not the germination method, b/c i had 100% germination on 30 other seeds at the same time (20 diesel ryder, 10 unknown). Just those 5 from that one strain wont go.

The only thing I can think of is that the seeds are not fully developed. The 5 seeds came from a friend's plant that got seeded, I'm not sure if they had time to develop. The thing that gets me though-- the seeds look great. Fat, dark, with brown markings.

I guess my question is - Can seeds look good like that, but still be underdeveloped?

Sometimes seeds take longer than others to germinate ... that could be it ... no reason the seeds would be dead ...
