Why keep moms?

I havn't seen it mentioned on here before, so why keep mother plants at all? Why don't you just veg, and right before you veg take a few clones from that batch. Flower the plants you were veging and then veg the clones you just took. Why do you need to keep a separate plant just for taking clones of?

So ya dont have to start from seed. A true mother plant is one that has a strong thc, grows well, has everything that one is looking for in a plant. (the 1 plant out of 1000) That is a true mother.

You want to keep the mother, if you keep taking clones from clones eventually you'll end up with the multiple assed monkey from south park

also it's easier to grow 50 plants that have the same exact genetics? that'd mean same flowering time, nutrients, waterings?, nearly every single thing regarding the plants growth.

eye clone gene slippage ay.....umm as far as i know its speculations..there is no true evidence of it..i know several growers who take cuts right before flower an never keep moms...peace az

But they would still have the same exact genetics. It's all the same thing. If I take two cuttings from one plant, then two cuttings from each of those plants, then two from those four I end up with eight exactly identical plants. its the same thing as if I took eight clones from the first plant. So what is the benefit?

Its mostly for the benefit of large growers cause it takes while to take 2 cuttings then wait a month for it to be able to take more cuttings from those plants
