Why I've had my tent running full power for 2 months with no plants in it

First time grower.. I decided to give my self plenty of time to reaserch. I've had my tent Running full power for 2 months two dial in all aspects of environmental control. Which I'm glad I did because Ive made so many changes in three months... What im asking is some experienced growers can give me any advice at all to squeeze in every bit of efficiency I can to this grow. The budget is not an issue I want to produce the best shit any of my friends have ever seen eventually
So here is my pre grow diary so to say
5x5 tent
1000w hps air cooled and insulated with 4, 75w real draw blue spectrum LEDs in each corner.
Ac/humidifier
Seedling mat(my floor gets cold in winter)
Carbon filter exhaust.
Oscolating fans
Using AN Professional growers level nutrients and following chart
My grow plan is to top at 2nd true set once a few sets above it have grew. I will do LST after topping to achieve even canopy and do one more top on the higher branch so all the other ones catch up and connecting stems are closer to the nutrients
Will grow ten plants. Yes I know it may seem like alot for my space but I am confident and dedicated to make it work with proper training. And shorter veg

Well get the sliderule back out boss because everthing changes once the ladies show up. I like you drive but ya need to go ahead and dive in... Holla. Oh and there is always a performance curve. Veg time has to be long enough to accomidate the roots to the ordeal of flowering. I think I've tried everything but for every gain there is a loss.
Trying to save time in veg increased my time in flower.

Well it was very silly to run your tent empty. Any adjustment you would need to make could have been made with the plants in there and you wouldn't have wasted 2 months of your bulbs life. Don't do that again. Other than that it seems like you have done your research, good luck.

Ahhhhhh the joy of being a noob. I remember when I was a noob. I used to pretend that I had my tents full of weed and was petting my girls up and down and shit. I took fake selfies with them. I did this for 3 months straight till I made myself all paranoid and shit. Then I had to fake chopp them down and flush down the toilet. Good times... good times...bongsmilie

I could see a few days maybe just to make sure everything is running properly, but 2 months? not sure if serious lol

This is what happened when seeds became 10 bucks a pop. Run males you'd first run so you got something to play with. Too many people want their first and last bag of pot to be grown exactly the same. Stop supporting the stoner stereotype and learn with time, don't expect to stop your learning after the first grow, like most people.

I would suggest you rethink that part of your plan. Those cute bottles are basically water and come with a bunch of over-the-top claims and ridiculous prices. Going with dry salt based nutrients is simple, cheap and effective (oh and no worrying about PH with soil). I use the Jack's 321 method but there are others and even generic versions of the same. Since you seem to be into doing your homework I would steer you over to the nutrient sub forum. If you do want to talk more about this just let me know and I would be glad to give more detailed instructions and tips. If I could go back in time and tell my new grower self one thing this would be it.

I'm a 1st timer as well and from Canada, so the old underground growers are available for advice. They work in my local hydroponics store.
I was told to take it easy and stay away from hydroponics at first, too easy to kill your green friends.
What's vital is correct pH, so I got some pH up/pH down. I'll get some pH test strips & meter to monitor soil/water pH. Too little or much pH in soil or soil-less restricts your plant's ability to uptake nutrients. I'll do my best to grow organically without the liquid nutrients.
4 plants in Alberta is legal limit, so I'll respect that guideline. I bought two fem seeds from True North Seed Bank, and had one thrown in for free: Bruce Banner, GG and White Widow strains. Quality over quantity, and besides once I find what strain I like, I can plant cuttings.
So maybe your ten plants is too much for "private" consumption in your location. As well, you can get good yield off a single plant, so maybe a couple of favourite strains and something new might be all you need.
