Why is my plant so compact and bushy?

This community is always helpful, and I appreciate your help.

In week 3. Looks healthy, just super compact. Since it’s an auto, is it okay to top, or will that stunt it?

So many pics here with longer internodes. My DLI is around 30, and the internodes are much closer. Should I raise the lights?

Also never know if I should cut anything, like topping or giving it some breathing room.

Growing in autopots with Jack’s 321.
Any suggestions to help me learn and make my grows better?

What kind of light. My first thought is to much blue spectrum. Don't top autos. Odds are it's just genetics if you have a decent light. Plant looks happy

i have the Mars Hydro TSL2000. All I have right now.

So don't touch? I was only worried that the dense vegetation might not be good for air circulation. I've had a few grows, but seem to screw something up in the process every time.

Even keep the lil' nothing branches (the ones at the very bottom)? Thank you!

Ita not but the plant is auper small and chances of mold in vegetation are super small not impossible but small.
But if you see some tops that vould get more light bend some leafs branches or break off aome leafs just dont go crazy leafs produce food

Looking at your pictures again today I believe your going to start to see deficiency soon. If you look really carefully in the pictures you can see all the yellowing in-between the veins starting

Yea magnesium.but mayve he has some slow release lime in the soil

I saw that, too. Up the Epsom salt a little? I want this grow to go smoothly, and definitely don’t want to make things worse.

Well done.

Don't worry about blocking air circulation or not getting enough light under the canopy. You should have a fan blowing on the plant. Spend $20 for an anemometer and get 2 meters/second of breeze or just set a fan on it so that the leaves are moving slightly. Per another poster, you're doing a great job of building out the infrastructure that a plant needs to support a lot of flowers.

Lots of leaves is a good sign and the fact that it's short and bushy indicates that you're using a veg light//a light with a lot of blue and/or you're giving it a lot of light.

Jack's 3-2-1 — same here. I've had excellent results but, then again, it's all just the same 18 chemicals so the plant doesn't give a shit if it's from a pretty bottle or a 25 pound bag.

Re. don't top autos - I've never understood that. I've done five auto grows and they've been topped and LST'd. The idea that topping "slows down growth" has, one, never been backed up by data and, is hard to defend conceptually. Topping removes a tiny amount of vegetation that has never contributed anything to the growth of the plant and leaves a wound that heals in 24-48 hours. Why would that be considered "slowing down the growth" of the plant.

Given that it makes canopy management so much easier, if growers shouldn't top, what are the alternatives and why are they superior to topping.

Final point - over on a cannais site that's dedicated to autoflowers, it's completely routine to top autoflowers. What are all of these people doing wrong?

Top at the fourth node and LST and things will work out just fine.

My experience with autos is that they explode in growth after the first month.

DOnt top an auto. You will go in to even longer veg plant will not fit in your tent.
And mars hydro is a veg light? Who knew a full spectrum light is veg...

You are doing great with lst looks like you have more than 5 tops allready

Mars Hydro TSL2000. Full spectrum. Not a veg light.

I haven't done any LST lol. This is all natural. So I have one telling me not to top, and one telling me to top. I'm confused. I apologize for going back and forth here, I just want to optimize the plants. I usually end up with branches too low to produce good bud, mostly popcorn. You guys leave the lower branches, too?

I do but they are not smokable.good for cookies.
If you didnt do lst look can you open it even more light on side branvhes would give you more tops than just cutting the middle

Thanks for reminding me to take a deep breath. I’ve had a few great grows, but the last few flopped.
I’ll let it grow naturally and see what happens. The autopots don’t have tie downs to spread the branches, so the colas grow too close. I’m learning.
