I've only been smoking weed for 9 months now by joint or straight pipe. It tastes like chlorine, and other chemicals. I don't add tobacco. When in a joint it's a bit smoother. I can taste the difference between different types but some are extremely potent

Need more details. Is it one strain, or many? Did you grow it? Is it black, Grey, or legal market?

I find the only way to really taste it is in a clean glass pipe. Any other way and you induce other substances.
Clean, non bleached rolling papers are just as good as a clean pipe for taste imo. Flower vapes might be the best of all, although I'm a joint man at heart.

That chlorine taste is something I have been looking for. It was common in the 90’s in the local unnamed dank. I definitely come across chemical flavor like solvents, moth balls, burnt rubber. A samsquanch auto was the last time I found the strong chlorine on the back end and it’s also the last time I put any effort into autos since it bummed me out that I couldn’t keep her.

All bud tastes like chemicals. THC is a chemical. All terpenes are chemicals. Cannabis is a natural chemical factory. So yeah, chlorine and chemicals actually doesn’t necessarily sound like a bad thing. In fact, the word terpenes comes from the word turpentine.

That said, a chemical cleaning agent taste can be an indication it’s been treated with pesticides or has been contaminated. If only we could attach a smell/taste sample to posts….

These are all from the first search page about PGR weed in Australia.

I was going to go down in this direction. If the source is unknown anything is possible. If there was a lot of mold the person might have tried to treat it. There are a lot of people that don't understand chemicals and chemistry but sleep in a Holiday Inn and think they are chemists. Remember years ago getting foul smoking stuff but since my source has remained the same that issue has not appeared.

Long ago we'd sometimes get hold of what we called "plastic weed" . When burned it smelled and tasted like burning plastic . We considered it top shelf and it was always priced accordingly .

This was long before PGR's when almost everything was grown outdoors and imported . The only one I can remember having a name put on it was Citral . I have a few joints worth of something that tastes similar stashed away , think it's Pure Michigan but not sure . I'll test it later .

I'd love to find a strain that had that taste , smell , and potency in today's world of fruits and cookies .

I used straight raw unadulterated sodium hypochlorite to treat my Rezs for years and never had anything taste like chlorine, maybe the water if you drank it haha. If you ask me it’s like the buds have been treated with something, like a pesticide or maybe been washed in bleach in an attempt to remove something just as a bad
