Personally I smoke it to either relax & wind down, or if i've got things to be getting on with it helps me remain calm & concentrate on the job in hand.
When I was a lad of about 8 years old, I had trouble learning at school..... not because I was stupid, but because I was out of control & extremely hyperactive, not to mention very strong minded & independent (always used to work alone, never in a group).
When I was about 15/16 I started to smoke bud here & there, & I found that it shut off that switch in my head that was causing me to bounce off the walls all the time.
I'm 25 now, and whilst I don't have the problem of hyperactivity any more (thank god), I still have trouble concentrating on tedious jobs without becoming frustrated & giving up. But after a joint, I can quite happily sit there & get on with it without loosing my patience. Sometimes just sitting there looking at what needs to be done & just planning it out thoroughly for hours (for instance, with my car that i'm forever changing engines in).
I've also learnt so much in the past 10 years through being stoned, as I do a lot of researching on the net for things that I think might interest me. Some of my greatest achievements have come from smoking green, & it really makes me quite angry how a natural "straight out of nature" drug can be branded as a mind killer since all its done for me is open it up to new things.
Sorry for the life story, but I was just wondering why other people smoke it?
Peace
