Yep, a jet airplane taking off in your closet. Not very stealth anymore is it....Next time get a S & P fan. I don't even hear it. Have to touch it to see if it's on.....

Suspend it in the air with rubber bungee cords. You can buy packs of 10 for about $14. Helps with vibrations. Can't do anything about the noise wind action until you buy an S & P fan though...

A fan speed controller will help enormously with noise. Also, acoustic ducting and a muffler for the airflow noise, and wrapping/boxing the fan for motor noise.

Yes, the 150 model works perfectly on low for pulling from a carbon filter and thru an air cooled reflector. They have 2 settings low and high so don't buy a speed controller. Insulated ducting helps from home D/Lowes.
Do they come pre-wired to plug into an outlet, or do I have to do the wiring myself? Thinking this fan might be a solution to my noise problems.

oh it is the answer for low noise in the inline fan if you dig into the research. Not quite as powerful as some of the other inline fans of top dollar but you only want it to do its job not be able to suck the chrome off ....

You will need to buy the prewired cord at home depot or lowes. It's really a good thing because they have different lengths so measure your needs and get what length you need rather then extras. It is simple to wire. I believe its been a while 3 wires. One ground and the other 2 for low and high. Consider a Y for spliting for another vent area like veg area? Now you know any extra length of ducting distance lessens the air flow. Good Luck...
