With a budget of about 800-1000
What exactly would u reccomend to buy and then help me set it all up lol
Id prefer Cree cobs or maybe mixed with vero
if I can spend less that would be good bit ultimately id like to harvest 1lto 2 pounds at a time even thou id really do it perpetually so about a qp a week would be nice
So this would have to be a system I could add to or just x2 it after you teach me how to wire and build haha
Lets just say all I know is u need the cob a driver and could fan right?
Then wire the driver to light and fan to driver?
Then attatch it all with thermal paste maybe? To some sort of structural support?
Do the could coolers suck air away from the cob or what exactly is going on?
I obviously don't know what I'm doing bit am good at diy and electrical so I'm confident I could succed
Let me know what u think I have a Chinese cob and a few area 51 lights
My other option is go back to hps. Or buy a bunch of the new area 51s

Looks like you've done a bit of reading so far and for $1000 you can easily reach your goal. The fan will need it's own 5 or 12 volt driver unless it's an AC fan which normally isn't used.

AC->driver->cobs
AC->driver->fans

Thermal adhesive, or read up on tapping holes and you'll need cob holders if you use Cree cobs.

Heatsinks keep the cobs cool, the fans keep the heatsinks cool unless you are designing a passive setup. If you're running the cobs at 25 watts or less passive should be a serious consideration but most people run more than 25 watts per cob.

Anyway, it will be easier to help if you tell us LxWxH of your target area. We can give you a few recommendations and then you can use that info to get a better idea of cost and components.

Well I have an entire spare bedroom was probably gonna section off a 5 x 10' with panda film and about 8 foot ceiling
Really I could design the space around the lights even..I have plenty room and like to grow in 3 or 5 gallons and will prolly pack as many as I can in for a sog also I grow all organic

Also from my research imo using thermal paste seems easier so in the design I'd like to use that
I hear meanwell drivers are good I think? But don't know how many cobs or fans can be wired to a driver so how many I would need total
Also not sure what heatsink to buy maybe Arctic 11 or heatsink USA not sure what would be the best design or how to cool or how to hook it all up
I've imagined one long panel maybe 4 feet long that could work for about 4x2 and make like four of them? I don't know if that's even a good idea but my very first led grow gave me the idea
I used household LEDs in ysplitters using a 4 floor foot shop light minus the bulbs as a "reflector" and blew a fan across them anyways I liked the idea of a long footprint
I need some ideas for what to connect it all to? Like as far as for the structure I've seen people make pvc Frame and wood frame(don't wanna do that lol) use old led casings but I was thinking I could use the sheet aluminum or whatever they sell at Home Depot and have them cut it for me? Let me know what you guys think I've seen some awesome wiring diagrams but they kind of confused me also
Make me a shopping list. Lol

You're probably not going to deck out that whole space with $1000, but you don't need to to reach your yield goal.

Check out APV-12-12 you could get a few fans running on it if you go with heatsinkusa. How many 12v fans is dependent on the current they draw. Since the APV-12-12 outputs up to an amp, a 12v fan that uses .3 amps you could get 3 on one driver.

LED drivers have a voltage limit so you can compare that to the COB voltage to determine how many will run on a single driver. Lots of people are using HGL-185H-C1400 to run either 4 CXB3070 or 4 CXB3590. Give the Vero 29s a look too. If you're planning on running 50 watts or more Veros start to make sense especially if you're trying to get as much power for your money as possible (trying to deck out a large space).

40" of this will passively cool 4 cxb 3590 36v 3500k being run at 50 watts each at 1400ma...

Bonjour
@PerroVerde are you sure this hs could handle 4 cxb 3590 @1400mA passively cooled!???
Cause mine is similar (1000x165x35mm 14 fins) a little bit bigger in fact...and when I touch the hs it is not hot...with 120mm fans @4.5V.
I want to be sure I could go passive, but I will keep the fans for summer!
Have a great day ★
