I bought this 1m long Compact Fluro light.
Crompton Lighting
Model:FL218B
Supply: 230/240V~50Hz
Lamp: 2x18W G13
Current(total): 0.58A

It was supplied with two long tube 18W each. Can I buy higher watts tube? Or is 18W max? So it be 36W when I fit both of the long tube light. I think its a 5/8 one. How do i know its a T8? Can i convert it to a T5 if possible?

I want to find one that i can light seedlings with.

Just follow the reccomendations. T8 bulbs are more effecient than t5's. you can tell a t8 becuase it is about 1" in diameter and says t8 on the end, t5's are about 2" diameter The ballast can only run what it is rated to run any more and it simply wont work. hope this helps.

Yup thanks. Well I got a 4ft CFL ballast. Is it possible to switch the 4ft ballast into the 2ft ballast? I just found a F36W/154 T8 4ft 36W daylight (6500K) tube and ballast and i have plenty. Although it is too long to fit into my grow space. So i want to know if i can take the 4ft ballast and place it into a 2ft. Yes they are T8's. How much are 4ft CFL ballast worth? I got like alot of them inside my shed.
(I think its a 2ft in the picture).

I will tape the measurements tomorrow. Thank for the help. What are the tubes called? for the 2ft one? So all i just need to do is switch the insides. Anyone know any 18W vegetation bulbs for T8s 2ft?

I'm very sure thats its daylight for veg and warm white for flower/
Coolwhite its around 3500K-400k doesn't really help and has very little light for the plants. Someone told me that. And on the CFL thread it say Warm white and Daylight works best.

The 2ft cfl ballast requires 0.6m tube where the 4ft is way longer. Yes i do have the starters from the 4ft so i guess it will work to switch the longer tube setup to a smaller cfl ballast which is 2ft.
