which is better?

im going to buy a base soil instead of using the crappy soil at my house. There some that i can buy that has 60% compost, 30% top soil, and 10% sand, and theres another where im guessing its just 100% top soild. im mixing in perlite/peat moss/bone and blood meal/ and i think a few others, so itl be 50% soil and 50% all that other shit. should i get the 60% compost soil or the regular soil?

I like the sound of the first soil better. Look into expanded shale over perlite. Does the same thing, but it won't float out of your mix over time like perlite does.

Don't go crazy with bone/blood meals.
