When to water?

I saw this nice video on LED ( I use a Grow Pro 180 ) and one section mentioned not watering the plants again until the soil is nice a loose and dry. Then, water it at THAT point.

Ive been watering my plants pots every other day until the Drain Bowl underneath it is filled up so I know ive reached the bottom. And so far, plants look beautiful and have been now in flowering for 3 weeks. One fan leaf fall off today and it was an old one so Im not worried about it, I just got this reaction that the leaf had a lot of water in it. So it was interesting to see someone recomend only watering the soild after its dry and lose.

Before I go about this way can anyone confirm/give insight? Thanks

Look on this site under marijuana plant problems. There is a " sticky" or saved thread at the top titled "moisture stress and solutions" started by the legendary Uncle Ben. Read.

It was a nice read thanks. Can I be honest though? It didnt really answer my question and curiosity. My plants are not suffering at all right now. I just wanted to know what you guys thought about the idea of watering the soil only wen the soil has dried.

The reason to let them dry out a little is it allows the roots more oxygen and preventing root rot (pythium bacteria). But if you are getting good results I guess keep it up!

Well I like to water a day after the soil has already been dry, my reasoning behind this is because the roots are gonna grow because they are looking for that water.

but other people might say different. This is my opinion.

the 2nd knuckle test is a favorite on this site. but honestly every other day seems a bit too much. if your plants are thriving though don't stop what you're doing.
