When to give seedlings light

I'm going to be growing soon with rapid rooters, so I stuck a few different vegetable seeds in there for practice. I assume because they are all different seeds they are germinating at different rates. Because they are not cannabis I haven't been keeping that close an eye on them even thought I should be. Am I too late on giving one of them light? Should I still keep them in the dark? Weak light? Do I wait until the first leaves fully form? Thanks for the help.

It's a myth that seeds need darkness to germinate.

A lot of vegetable seeds, lettuces in particular, are actually dependent on light to germinate.

Does that mean when I drop my cannabis seed into the rapid rooter I can leave the hole at the top open rather than ripping a piece of the rooter off to plug the hole? I also assume there's little reason to not have the light on and ready so as soon as the seed pops light is available? Last question, do you recommend I add nutrients as soon as the seed pops? Thanks

Give them light when the ring-tailed sloth begins it's yearly migration back to wooded dell from which it came.

I would lightly pack the hole anyway to make sure the seeds don't dry out. I would use nutrients as soon as the seeds pop in hydro, yes.
