When to flower?

Just wondering if my plant is ready to be switched over to 12/12 from 18/6 It is 6 weeks and 2 days old from seed and growing using Cfl's, Lst grow. It has alternating nodes but can't be seen from the pics. Im not sure weather its male or female? There is something coming out of the stem looks kind of like a V shape? Any help would be great! Thanks.

Keep in mind you can flower anytime you want. Your determining factor is your flower space. Multiply the size of your plant in vegetation by two to three times will give you a rough idea how large it can get in flower. BTW stellar looking plant you definately paid attention to details. Too early to tell the sex of your plant. Some produce preflowers in vegetation early others dont truly mainifest till you flower.

Thank you very much! Using your method I've estimated it to be about 30 Inches as its roughly about 12 inches now. It's hard to measure as its been tied down. I think I will give it another week or 2 then switch. Thanks again calicat.

lol your lst looks like a total failure

The V shaped things coming from the stem are stipules, they're part of the leaf. You should see them at the start of every leaf.

I think you want the top of the plant lower than the other growth for LST

You'll find two stipules at the base of each petiole (leaf stalk). Above the petiole base is where it the branches grow out. Right now i have preflowers just beginning to show at the top of my plants between the new branches and stipules. Here's an example of something more developed, my camera can't foccus on mine because they're still too small:



If you see something here and you already have a branch then it's definitely a preflower. Looks like there's something suspicious in the first photo. My preflowers are usually more developed near the top of the plant so check there.

Good advise

Pretty indica..what strain? It won't bolt as much as a sativa in flowering. I think you picked a good flowering schedule.

You're doing great. Ignore the brays of jackasses if you want to run with the horses.

Perfect time, I do it at basketball size they look like they are right there, expect two more feet in the next two weeks of 12/12

Thank you for all your advice, it has helped alot im going to switch in a week I think. I will cjeck now to see if I can see any pre flowers. Also im not sure what strain, it was out of a bag i bought :L Thanks again guys, exactly the info i was looking for.
