When to end vegetation

My plant is currently 11 inches tall and I was wondering how big should I let it get before I end vegetation and put it under a grow light.

It will double in size,so just stop it at like a foot if u want a 2 foot plant.

I would wait until 12 inches and start it on 12/12, that's what I plan on doing.
