When to clone?

I read in the FAQ that by keeping a portion of the stem dark for a week or two by wrapping some tape around it (called etiolation) helps rooting.

This suggests that taking clones is best done in the dark period. Is my speculation correct or does it need to be kept in the dark for a week or two for it to make any noticeable difference? If not, when is the best time to clone? I've never had much success with cloning other plants but I surmised this has to do with not keeping the temps up. Any advice appreciated.

Theres a few good ones out there you can google "I grow Chronic" thats a cool vid. Some things he does (like spraying carbonated water on his follage for Co2) might not be the best info (read some people making fun never tried it myself as I am getting a nice Co2 injection system) But all the videos have tips that you can benifit from. www.urbangrower.com is pretty cool not a lot of people like him though lol
