when should I top my girls?

Hi All,

Please advise at what stage I should top my girls?

I have read on here time and time again that if I top my girls I have a greater chance of a double top bud. Is this true? When should I do this?

I have switched to 12 & 12 today! This is the end of their 5th week and look big and healthy enough.

Pic attached (please ignore the 2 plants on the left - strange strain these 2 - not worried about them)

dont top in floral stage
its better top top early that wat the shoots can grow thus producing more bud

I top in veg only and very early. say at 3 knodes from cloneing.To late to top her now. If shes getting to tall rope her over (lst).She'll throw a bunch more big colas doing that.

ok cheers peeps - i guess i missed the boat this time. Never mind, you learn as you grow older. Not bad for a first ever grow so far! Next time ill top em, this time i'll tie em over!!
