when i die...

...i don't want to be buried in a casket... i want to be buried 12 ft. underground and decompose with the earth.

seriously -- i'm trying to arrange it so my relatives can bury me in a nature reserve park.

Weird. I've been thinking of the exact same thing for years now. I wonder how much organic material gets wasted because of all the greedy dead.

Growing up, I was always told by my late father," Sunny boy, we come from the earth and one day we shall return to the earth". Once I understood what he really meant by that, I have always wanted to be buried straight into the ground. Then once I am back from where i came from, I want a nice oak tree or something planted right on top of my grave. Just thought I'd share...RIP dad.

How far away is that day? Sounds like it's right around the corner the way you put it..

I agree though, there's actually this pretty cool burial practice they do in Nepal I think, they just stick the body on the side of the mountain after death and slit the neck so the blood attracts wildlife. I guess here in the states people like having a place to actually go to to visit their dead. I was actually thinking about this the other day when a couple of my friends were talking about visiting a friend who had recently passed, one of them said "yeah, I really need to go visit her, I haven't been yet", and I just thought "why do you need to visit a dead body to feel like you've fulfilled some 'need' you have?"... Or when someone asks if you want to go visit somebodies grave and you decline, it's as if it's an insult to them or something... idk.. I don't see the difference between being at the foot of the grave and simply being at home and remembering them as a person and who they were..

I would love to be buried naturally. No casket or fancy marker. Just throw me in a hole and plant a tree on top. I think that would be sweet. :D

funny thing is, back in the day when you died and they wanted to bury you on the property instead of a cemetary they'd do it next to an oak tree or they'd plant one and put you under it
