when does the "fade" start ?

hey so I have a critical sensi star that is finishing its 6th week of flower tomorrow she is in pre bagged TGA super soil, I am just wondering when the "fade" starts ? I understand that stain and environment are big factors but is there a rough time frame that that process starts ?

Damn those look nice.

If you keep them properly fed and cared for, as you obviously are there can be minimal fade, more or less green to the end. Those look huge for 35 days flower.

Whatever your doing just keep doing it.

Your fade should start anytime now assuming you didn't use too much super soil, you should notice fade about 10 - 14 days before they finish

It depends on the strain and how much Super Soil you use. I shoot for some fade to start around two weeks before harvest, but it is hard to control until you have one grow with that particular plant under your belt (to see how heavy a feeder she is, etc.) I find that fade is aesthetically important, but means little for taste, potency, or yield. The most important factor is when you harvest, not fade.

Also, fade is not just when the soil is depleted of N. There are some strains that change color towards the end of flowering regardless of N. Some are temperature sensitive.

hey thanks everybody, she is in a 7gal smartpot I used FFOF on top and tga pre bagged super soil on bottom 50/50. ,,,,agin thanks for all the help and I will post pick soon

Great grow, but I think you have closer to 3 weeks. My fade on Jillybean started about 3 weeks from the end. It was a hydro grow, and so I was checking ppms twice a day. She slowed taking nutes three weeks from the end, and the fade started. She totally stopped taking nutes two weeks from the end, and the leaves faded from green to purple/yellow/red/orange. Really beautiful!

You can induce fade by sort of flushing using molasses and letting the soil dry out completely between last couple waterings. When the soil dries out completely they will fade quite a bit over night. A nice fade makes for smoother smoke and better and stronger taste and smell. When the the soil dries out completely all the microbes either die off or go dormant or both.. So if you plan on recycling soil. After chop, top dress with worm castings and water with a compost and enzyme tea.

hey thanks for the info hyroot, and yes I do plan or re-using the soil, this will be my first time for that so im sure I will have many more questions
