When do I switch to flower?

Hi, I have two plants in a tent at the moment which are about 2 feet tall. I was just wondering if there are any signs on the plant to look for when deciding to switch for flower.
Do I switch just based off the size of the plant or do I wait for pistols
can I leave it too long? Thanks

Plants can double in size and some strains even triple or more in size after switch so be carefull with ure tent size . Usually more vegetation time = more yield

Flip base on height of your tent. Work backwards from the top of the tent and leave about 24 inches under your light to find out how much real growing space you have. Your 6 foot tent may only have 4 feet of useable space meaning that if you are flowering at 2 feet you are cutting it close. Many growers use scrod screens and learn to control height through training.

Preflowers develop which says the plants are mature enough that when you flip they will begin flowering quickly.

As mentioned above you start by thinking of the final result you want and working out the height of the plants preflip. For example, the strain you are growing, XXX tends to double in size so....

You can flip whenever you want. It depends on how big you want your plants to be. You can do 12/12 from seed if you want or you can train them for months. There is no one answer for when to switch.

if I grow from seed, I try to wait for the nodes to alternate before flipping

Thanks for the info, I haven’t heard much about alternating nodes so I think I’ll do some research. Does this just happen naturally over time? Both of my plants were grown from seed
Also, why only from seed?

Because clones are already mature and the nodes are not even anymore.
