When do i start giving my plant nutrients

WELL I GOT A PLANT GROWING ITS LIKE 5 DAYS OLD AND STILL REALLY SMALL I BRING IN THE GARAGE AND OUTSIDE.... I M ONLY USING A 100 WATT HOUSE LIGHT FOR THE TIME BEING... UMMM I NEED SUM TIPS HOW TO GROW A GOOD PLANT WITH A LIL COST BUDGET. AND WHEN DO I START FEEDING IT NUTRIENTS...? AND WAT KIND? HOW MUCH...?

as long as the lights are the bright white flourescents thats the good and cheap way to start your lil monsters! about 4 weeks or so to start the nutrients. as far as the lighting goes just start them on a 18hr light 6hr dark cycle and only water when the soil is pretty dry. the trick to the nutrients is to start off about 1/4 of what the directions say cause you want to introduce the nutes gradually till they get used to it or youll burn them. start your nutes with nitrogen. keep good air flow and a nice warm temp around 75 degrees and make sure everything you do in your grow room is clean and sterile! peaCE

not trying to be mean but plenty of good threads for begginers. Every thing ive learnd has been either on this web site or reputible magazines like rosebud,urban gardner, maximimum yield. but as far as your question goes beinghopeful is right start weak go strong. i start when they have 5 leaves, an make sure its a grow nute like 10-5-7 for example. cfls are a great way to strat but look into a hps light.

You put the cart before the horse when it comes to both learning what you need to know before you begin to grow and saving and building a decent or better growing system and having what you need on hand for when you need it.

For the life of me I will never understand why so very many people do that.

simple.. some people don't know what they need on a first round.
Come on BT... that's pretty easy to understand no?

I didn't know I needed some big fat rolling papers when I first started growing..but once I did.. man I had to go buy some skins.

With all the online grow sites and grow videos online or that can be purchased and grow books, both online and that can be purchased, and grow related magazines anyone can easily have the A to Z basics down before they pick the genetics they will grow and pop seeds or pop bagseed.

Why so few take advantage of the knowledge that is out there before beginning a grow absolutely astounds me. They go into growing totally blind and keep asking 'what do I do now, what do I do next' all the way to curing when doing so is totally unnecessary.

LOL. yes.. I too know the "ok what do I do now?" thing too...

I only mean that growing a plant isn't rocket science.
you need to know what?

A plant needs water, light, and air.
some people just need some re-assurance that they have things figured out right.
I was that way on my first grow.. come on - you helped me back then too... I asked some pretty stoopid questions in hindsight too... doesn't mean I didn't read or try to learn for myself.. but you can only believe what you read so much without having someone you think you trust verify it....
I think alot of us forget that.. we all started somewhere. We all learned that 12/12 is for flower when we didn't know it before.
We learn that MJ is a C3 plant - and what that means.. only when it's applicable. Why would I look that up ahead of time not knowing what it means?

You have taught me alot BT... I will always strive to learn, always have.. But if you don't know what to look for.. how do you know what to research?

I have a bunch of fresh water fish tanks and I have been feeding my girls with the water I take from the tanks when I do water changes. I started off with awesome soil mix from tons of research that included worm castings and crushed lime. I have been amazed and very excited from the outcome. I have noticed that my tallest most beautiful lass has discarded a lot of leaves that have turned yellow and fallen off. I have attributed this to my water being potassium deficient. I am still trying to find a good organic way to provide the (K) to them but have not found anything yet. I was thinking I would try a Potassium, manganese, phosphorus blend, anyone got any helpful pointers on a 100% organic blend? My plants are in the 3rd week of flower, they will flower for 9-11 weeks total. They are White Widow. Thanks
