When A Fire occurs... What normally causes them...?

Hi all , in the process of setting up my 5ftx8ft 2x600w room, Iv heard of Fires in grow rooms, just wondering what normally causes them and how to prevent....?

hey do i just wire the expsosed third wire in my 150 econ light hps to the third prong of a plug in adapter. do i use normal wire. or do i jus tleave it there hanging inside. i know tis prob stupid, but i wana another sorce.

Keeping a clean and uncluttered grow space would seemingly go a long way in reducing one's chances of an incident. Also, using power strips with those little re-set buttons on the bottom might help protect against any major over-load.

if your talking about the ground wire ...please for the love of god HOOK THAT THING TO THE DAMN GROUND WIRE IN YOUR CORD

I've had a fire, a few years ago. Home pretty much burned down, had to live in a rental house for a year while they restored it. But it had nothing to do with growing, just really old wiring, like 100 years old.

Unless your an electrician then buy a sealed ballast all ready to go and nicely packaged from a reputable company, and water the plants only! :wink:

No, wasn't growing at the time, thank the stars. They found a light, which was not in use at the time, but I said that was for wintering my tropical bonsai.
