What's your opinion on spanking kids?

I'm indifferent about spanking.

I don't think a child under 1 should be spanked and I don't think a child over 10 should be spanked. Also, parents/caregivers should be cautious on the severity of their spanking because it can easily get out of hand.

I think spanking is a win/lose type of deal, but when children don't listen for shit and they aren't learning, what the hell do you do?

If they are under my roof, and they deserve it they will get a spanking. The problem with kids and young adults today is that they didn't get spanked or disciplined when they should have, period.

all for it by responsible loving parents. it the arrogant assholes who have no respect for for anyone else, including there children, that create problems in a system so well proven.

I have a daughter, and while I don't like doing it, there are times she'll flat out test me and won't listen until I do. Obviously you have to keep your anger in check, so I make it a point to take a deep breath when possible and calm myself down, THEN beat her. I only beat her on the but (sometimes I've had some misses, she can move fast, and she's slipped out of my grasp a few times)

Obviously I haven't gone to far, because it takes her less then 5 minutes to start acting like it never happened. Though she's had to have surgeries already, so I think her pain scale is a little jacked up.

I tried to put a like on it, and it wouldn't let me, so for the record, I liked it.

I dont agree with it. Im not a parent my self although I was ''spanked'' as you put it when I was a child and I feel It just made things a lot worse.

I've spanked my son and he turned around and just smiled at me like I was playing a game or something. I was so freaking mad I walked away and cried. I felt awful for spanking him and on top of the awfulness I felt he didn't even get the message.

I dont think it works at all.My mom and aunt used to beat the hell out of us and we were respectful to them but nobody else.We were horrible kids lol.
Fuck a spank we got beat and chased around with the extension cord.But with that said I'll beat my kids lol.

I can remember my dad giving me a swat on the fanny from time to time. It worked. Now, my brothers on the other hand...

I think I was more embarrassed than anything. If it keeps a kid from doing something stupid or dangerous, then I'm for it.

I was only spanked once in my life and I turned out good. Depends on the child, some are just pure demons and need to be beat daily to get it through their thick skulls

I say "I'm gonna beat your butt!"

but of course, I'm no where near scary enough to make my kid listen.

Now his father on the other hand will say "LAY DOWN AND SLEEP" and bam, the kid is laying down.

Tell you what, when you have a kid, tell me all about it. Until then, you can have an opinion, thats your right, but don't expect me to take it seriously or give it a gram of weight.

I can yell until I pass out, until she sees a belt, she acts like its a joke, it won't phase her, not in the least. I know, I've tried.

and once you hit 10 and felt it all nothing hurts you.

my dad only spanked me 4 or 5 times that i can remember growing up and i would not even consider the spankings painful, its the letting down the person you respect more than anyone else in the world that hurts. its seeing the pain in his eyes as he trys his best to teach you right from wrong, its knowing that you in your arrogance have disappointed the person you spend your life trying to make proud.

i got plenty of spanking from my mom or grandmaw, but while effective they never had quite the same effect as a spanking from my father.
