whats these new lights about

hey there im getting back into indoor from being out door for the last 5 years. they have these new digital ballist now are they better than a ballist from 5 years ago? do they use less engery or whats better about them.

They are pretty much the same thing, with the digital ballast you get : WAY less heat, faster refiring of the bulb after power outage, they weigh a shit load less.

The downside to them I guess would be in a typical magnetic ballast it has a lifespan of like 10 years, a digital prolly about 5years...
