I was thinking it meant it was very healthy (Barney Farm Utopia Haze) seed
I have it geminating now and a tap root is emerging, not dead

A seed which sinks is a great sign, not a bad one. It takes air to make them float. That puppy is completely sealed and full. It will germinate. it may turn out to be your strongest plant as well.

I've grown many different plants and collected thousands upon thousands of seeds of all kinds. One quick method in many species is to dump them in a can of water and any floaters are thrown away. Doesn't mean they won't germinate but when you have thousands it's easier to take the ones that sink. :peace:

Keep them in paper bag and in the fridge which is a natural dehumidifier. Realize though that germ rates will fall after a year or so. This makes sense since nature replaces annuals....well...annually.

I agree. It's a good sign. I always get excited when a seed sinks straight to the bottom, it's gonna be good one.

guys does 7 ph water kill germinating seeds?

i always have shit luck doin seeds, i dont know what the deal is

ive sprouted my first and second batch of seeds fine, but since then out of 2 packs i couldnt germ a one

now i took my tap water soaked a paper towel in it, ph of the water is 7 i put a few drops of viniger in there and got the ph to 5.5 ph

they all cracked (black domina seeds), so i put them in wet rockwool sitting in about an inch of water,

now its be 2 days and nothing still, i planted them 1/4" deep

where lies the rub? why am i messing up all these seeds:confused:

Big P, I dunno, I don't soak my seeds, I just plant them straight away in the soil. Were they fresh?

Perhaps they are like those NFL players and tossed their life preservers... (too soon?)

ya that would suck, you gotta wonder if those NFL players really did that or if there was a struggle for the wreckage

seems only reason that guy survived was cuz he kept climbing ontop of the hull to stay out the freezing water

maybe they all fought for the wreckage and he made up the story

thats the way I woulda done it atleast:lol:

When I heard they went out 72 miles in a 21 footer with bad weather predicted and all of them being big boys in size, I just rolled my eyes in disbelief. No radio??!!
As for them tossing their life vests, I figured that was the hypothermia in play.

Darwin award instead of a super bowl ring.

PH 6.0 - 7.0 is the ideal range. 5.5 may be too acidic form germing.
Warmth will also play a part in germination. Seeds need a warm, humid, moist environment to germ'.
If I use tap water i will make sure it is tepid and has sat for at least 12hrs before using it. Just sit a cup of water on your modem overnight and it should be ready to go.
I would also recommend not letting those RW cubes sit in water. Those fuckers will be moist enough just dipped in water for a few seconds.
