What's happening with this branch?

I had to leave the house for a few days but before I left I made sure to thoroughly soak my plants. The reason being the temps were going to be in the 90s and I'm using smart pots.
Got home to find one branch of a plant was droopy with crispy leaves. Figured it needed water and gave it a good soaking. Next day looks exactly the same, so I mist the branch with water and put up a shade cloth over the branch. Today I check on it, and it looks the same but now the fan leaves are starting to yellow from the stem and veins.
Any idea what's going on? Bugs, fungus?

Will do. Haven't had a chance to give it a good look in to light. Where should I look? Along the whole branch?

Right below where the droop starts

Took a look and didn't see any holes or sign of damage from bugs.
The newest growth on the branch seems to not be affected. I attached a pic of that and the yellowing fan leaves.

Did you scrape back some of the soil against the stem and inspect for holes there? I saw them make a hole into the stem below surface where i wasnt able to see it.

Haven't found anything. Going to keep an eye on it and see what happens.
If it looks like it's spreading I'm chopping that branch. Hoping it will either fix itself or seeing how it progresses will help me figure out what's happening.

Check and see where the branch attaches to the main stem. One of my plants didn't like lower branches and was literally spitting them out. They would be fine, next day, come out and whole branch would be droopy, and sure enough, it wasnt attached to the main anymore. You could just touch it and see it loose on the main. I let the kids take them and put them in their "Hoolian" pots, and they are some interesting 3-4 ft clones. The wife's kids moved from Cali and have never seen anything other than bagged up weed, so they are getting their feet wet and helping and learning out in the swamp.
