What's a good vegging nutrient?

I'm fixing to start adding nutrients to the feeding of my plants but am stuck on what to look for in it. I know they need alot of nitrogen, so I'm wondering what you all use? I'm looking for something easily accessible or something I can get at wallyworld or the home depot. Post your comments. All help is appreciated.

black kow or cow manure and organic compost mix both at wal mart

blood meal works but sometimes it attracts inquisitive animals. as they think there is something dead around there. but if you put it out weeks in advance by the time you plant they are all done bothering it. and its cheap. been used for centuries. along with compost and manures.
