Hello RIU!! first off thank you 4 all the great info on this site!! so ive been researching on this site 4 ever and decided if i didnt start purchasing pieces to my puzzle i would never get growing. so i guess my question is what would you do in my situation? ok so i bought a new house and want to build a room. the basement has lots of room so that is not an issue. so far i have a 600w lumatek, can filter, vortex 447cfm and lots of the little stuff. what size room should i build? keep in mind i want a lil room to move around and for all the extras like fans a/c ect. so i guess thats good 4 now and ty 4 all ur help!!

i would first decide how many plants i was growing to grow. then how big i would allow them to get. i'd then figure out a way to elevate them off of the cold basement floor. measure your lights fans etc. then go down there with an idea of the amount of room you need, such as 72" x 72" . go snap chalk lines on the basement floor and step back and look at it. stand in it. imagine plants and lights and fans, etc. is that enough room for your goals? i'd also be sure to build it so that it can remain in your basement when you sell as perhaps an extra bedroom.... good luck

ok well im thinking 600w can do 9 plants or maybe even 12 if i keep em short so that the light can still penetrate. does that sound right?

very nice. it should come with an illustration as to what its capable of lighting with direct light, and indirect light. such as 5' x 5' or something. it should say the sq. footage it can efficiently cover. if not, try looking it up on the net. if you cant find it there, call lumatek and ask what the MH is good up to and what the hps is. better to hear it from them than anyone elses advice.....
