I currently have a 7'x11' flower room with two 1k air cooled lights. I want to add more light. should i add a single 1k or two 600's. Heat is not a problem. I have an extra 6" inline fan that i could use if i add 2 more reflectors. Temps are in the mid 70's right now with the two 1k's.

If it were my room, I would continue to use 1000's. Especially if heat is not an issue.

are you saying i should add another 1k to make a total of 3?

my thought was to add two 600's to help spread the light around.

Layout would be:
6 1
1 6

light mover? to maximize your spread? 3k on a light mover is pretty badass. and since you arent having issues with heat why not go for the 1k.

good idea. I never thought of a light mover. How far apart should i space my lights on a mover? I was only going to place the reflectors 2' apart. Would the mover even be utilized?

keep em pretty tight a few feet or so i have read. i have a light rail 5 on order because you can do 3 lights inline right out of the box.

thanks,

it would be cool to see your light mover set up. can you post a pic when you have it set up with the lights on it? how many lights are you going to have on it?

going to have 3 lights on the mover. then one stationary in the closet area. so somthin like this

1k 400 1k [400]
<------------->

I'm just curious how you guys are planning on venting with the light movers. I plan on buying a couple but can't I'm stumped on venting them.

i am using 3 iceboxes with a half hp chiller to cool my iceboxes/room down. i may also vent in a single line straight out into my attic and pull from outside so the lights will have different air than is being circulated in the room.

I currently have a 435 cfm inline fan blowing air through my two lights and into the attic. I'm planning on adding the other light inline with the two existing lights and see how it goes. I may have to go to a higher cfm fan and bring fresh cool air from outside the room if i need to cool the lights more.

I also redirect my exhaust air from the lights back down into my office/extra room to help supplement heat for the winter.

thats what i was thinking of doing with mine too, just pushing the hot air around in the house or basement to keep warm, heating oil here is expensive, if im using my hydro i may as well benefit from it, 2 birds 1 stone

i just picked up a 1k Nextgen ballast and Hortilux bulb to add to my room. No lightmover yet. i'm going to wait and see how my grow goes and add one if I need to.

Almost exactly what I have.

How much space do you have between each light? What size fan (dia and cfm) are you using to cool your lights?

Any pics?

well. i am in a warmer climate. but right now its winter, so i have a 8"input from a window box ducted to 1kw 400w 1kw lights then out to the attic with a roughly 700-1000cfm fan PULLing air into the attic. those fans are loud... my lights all have 6" openings, but the 8" fan does a nice job with a 8"-6" reducer. in the summer months, i am watercooling inbetween the lights and at the ends... about 8-10 inches inbetween the lights because of the way i have em setup.

pics.... hmm soon
