What would happen if you cut off the...

the plant would heal, or you could just let them fall off on their own. I believe they are the original food supply for the seedling so I'd be hesitant about cutting them off.
 
I was just wondering if the plant would just die since they depend on them. Or if it would force the plant to put more into the top :dunno:
