What type of light to use during dark period

I've read it somewhere but I can't seem to find it again.

What type of lights are safe to use for improved vision during the dark period?

I'm just too interested in my plants to let them sit alone for 12 hours without being able to even look at them. It will drive me crazy.

Anyone? thanks!

Well the best thing to do is to not go in the room during the dark period. But like you said sometimes your curiousity gets the better of you. I go in somtimes just to check the temps. I use standard green light bulbs that they sell at home depot or any home and garden store. They have to be green. I am not sure if it effects them but I know that most plants reflect green light. Thats why they are green. The ocean is blue because it reflects the light from the blue sky. Sorry for the rambling. Use green lights or better yet if you can wait don't go in at all during the dark. Hope I helped.

Yep, standard green light bulbs will work just fine. Never had any problems servicing any of my plants with that method ever. Not to tangent off too much into nerd territory, but if my memory from astronomy serves me correct, the reason why most plants TO OUR EYES "look green" in color is because that is the part of the spectrum they reflect the most. It's been a long time though, so I could be wrong.
