What type of incest burrows a hole in the stalks of plants

Hi I have a problem with something burrowing holes into the stalk of my girls and it as a result, the branch and the stalk snapped over! I brought the stalk back up and supported it, but its probably all done, because the leaves are dieing. Does anyone have any ideas on what it could be and if so How to stop i??

ahh yes , incest a game the hole family can play . R they gaping holes ? Perhaps slugs a beetle maybe get sum neem oil or insecticidel soap
